FAQ’S - Care & Usage

  • How do I clean my Garlic ShakerIs the Garlic Shaker dishwasher safe?

You can hand wash your Garlic Shaker, or wash it in the dishwasher on the top rack only (warranty and guarantee are void if washed on the bottom rack or high heat). The heating elements that heat the water and air dry dishes are located underneath the bottom rack. If you place your Garlic Shaker on the bottom rack it will likely melt because it is made of plastic. We highly recommend hand washing your Garlic Shaker with warm or moderately hot water, and a small drop of dish soap. 

  • Is the Garlic Shaker BPA free?

Yes, the Garlic Shaker is 100% BPA free.

  • Can I put my Garlic Shaker in the microwave?

No, absolutely not. Do not put your Garlic Shaker in the microwave. It may warp or break and is not covered by our warranty if put into a microwave.

  • Can I put my Garlic Shaker in the freezer?

No, we do not recommend it. Because the Garlic Shaker is made of plastic it may crack if frozen. Freezing the Garlic Shaker is not its intended purpose and damage caused by exposure to freezing temperatures.

  • Should I wash my Garlic Shaker before using it for the first time?

Yes, we highly recommend you hand wash or wash your Garlic Shaker on the top rack before using it for the first time.

  • Is the Garlic Shaker unbreakable?

No. While made with the highest quality materials and the best practices in manufacturing, the Garlic Shaker is not unbreakable. It is designed for ordinary kitchen use and will break if misused or subjected to heat.  

  • Can I put hot liquids, leave in the sun, or expose it to heat

No, the Garlic Shaker is made of plastic. It is not heat resistant and will warp or melt if exposed to heat of any kind. This type of exposure is not covered by our warranty.

  • What makes the Garlic Shaker different from other garlic peelers or pre-peeled garlic options?

Pre-peeled garlic is expensive and the garlic clove loses its taste and freshness once it is peeled. Smashing garlic with a knife is too dangerous. Hand peeling is tedious, slow, and makes your hands smell for days. Rolling garlic can only do small amounts of garlic at a time. Soaking garlic makes the garlic taste watery. Microwaving garlic makes the garlic taste bad and reduces its nutritional value significantly. The Garlic Shaker® has none of these problems or issues.

  • How does the Garlic Shaker remove garlic skin?

The Garlic Shaker® uses very simple physics to remove the garlic skin. The force exerted upon the Garlic Shaker® makes the garlic hit each end. The ribs in the middle cause it to rotate. The garlic cloves spin and hit against both ends and hit the ribs. All of these points of impact quickly sheer and pop off the garlic skin.

  • How do I place my order

It is fast and easy to place with our check out system. Just browse our products and click the “Add to Cart” button after choosing your color and quantities of Garlic Shakers. When you are ready to order, click “Checkout” on the page. You can then review your items, input your contact, billing, and shipping information, and submit your purchase.

    Setting up an account with Garlic Shaker is helpful for tracking your past and present orders or updating your saved information for future orders. An account makes it easy for gift shopping quickly. To set one up, simply go to the Account Page or follow the new user steps at the end of your checkout.  

    Can I change or cancel my order once it’s placed?

If your order has not shipped yet, we can easily change or cancel your order. Just sign into your Account or Contact Us. If your order is already en route, you can cancel it, but you must pay for the shipping cost. The remainder of your balance will be credited back to your credit card. If you want to cancel your order and you have already received it, you must pay for the shipping cost back to us.

  • What happens if the item is backordered?

We strive to maintain inventory of our products at all times. Occasionally, due to high demand or shortages of materials we can run out of a certain color or item. We will often make those availed as backordered items. They generally take 3-4 weeks for delivery. If this happens to you we will email you a notification that your item is backordered and we will place a hold until the stock is replenished, and give you an estimated shipping date. We thank you in advance for your patience. 

  • How long do pre-sale items take for delivery?

Pre-sale items will either have an announced deliver date at the time of purchase or an announcement stating the product will be delivered when inventory become available. If for some reason the product cannot be manufactured by the pre-determined deliver date and no stock will become available you will be contacted and offered to either purchase another color or not be charged. There is no charge for pre-sales until the product is available or the pre-sale date.

  • Can a Garlic Shaker be purchased at any retail locations?

At the moment the Garlic Shaker® is only available online through our Ecommerce store at www.garlicshaker.com. As new locations become available they will be announced and listed.

  • I live outside the U.S. How can I purchase a Garlic Shaker?

At the moment we do not ship to countries outside of the United States. We plan to change this as soon as possible. We intend to ship to every country on Earth, but at the moment only garlic lovers in the United States can receive one. As soon as this changes we will post about it and let everyone know! Garlic is a worldwide phenomenon. We hope to be a part of it and include everyone is the fun of garlic shaking. 

  • Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following methods of payment: American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, and Paypal. We do not accept Checks, COD, Layaway Plans, or Money Orders.

  • Is my transaction secure?

Yes, Garlic Shaker, Inc. uses SSL technology to encrypt all transactions. No personal information can be seen or intercepted by a third party.

  • Why was my card declined?

Please double check that the following was inputted correctly: credit card number, expiration date, and security code (three numbers on the back of Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and four numbers on the front for American Express cards). Also, your billing name and address MUST match your credit card exactly or else we cannot authorize the card. If you are still encountering issues, please contact your bank/card issuer directly.

  • When will I be charged?

You will be charged immediately upon placing your order except for pre-sales. Pre-sales will be charged upon the pre-sale release date or when inventory is available.

  • How do I know you’ve received my order?

Once you place your order, we’ll send you a confirmation email to let you know we have received it. We’ll also email you again when you items are on their way letting you know when to expect them.

  • How do I use my voucher code?

Please carefully read the terms and conditions stated on the deal page from which you purchased your voucher. It is your responsibility to use them before the expiration date. It is also your responsibility to understand what the shipping and product terms are. Garlic Shaker, Inc. will not honor the promotional value after the voucher has expired.

  • How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs are based upon weight, distance, and choice of carrier.

  • How do I get free ground shipping?

You can get free U.S. ground shipping within the continental United States with an order of $100 or more after applying coupons/discounts. Depending upon where the package is shipped to, transit time will be 1-5 business days.  There is no free shipping available outside the continental United States. Be sure to sign up for our free email list and monthly newsletter here. You will receive a free downloadable garlic cookbook and notifications for exclusive deals on shipping!   • How long will it take?

As long we have your items are in stock and they are not backordered or pre-sales, nor purchased during a national holiday or weekend shipping will happen with 24-48 hours of the purchase date and time. Once the order has left the warehouse, the amount of time it will take in transit is based upon your shipping choice of carrier and the shipping time paid for with that carrier. The fastest option (Next Day) takes just one day while the most economical (Ground) takes 1-5 days. Please plan your order according to your needs and allow for deliver time.  Please allow for extra time after big promotions on our website or through social media due to unusually high demand and order volumes.

  • What services do you use?

Within the continental U.S.: UPS, USPS, and Fed-Ex. The carrier used for your shipment will vary based upon weight. If you want overnight delivery the fees will be applied to your final purchase price. Typically, 1 pound packages will ship via USPS Priority mail and packages over 1 pound will ship via UPS Ground. Depending on the circumstances in our warehouse, this could change.

For Alaska, Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Marianas Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and P.O. Boxes, APO, or FPO addresses: UPS and USPS shipping only.

  • Will I be able to track my order?

Yes, we know you are looking forward to your Garlic Shaker order and we look forward to you getting it. After you place your order, you’ll get an email with tracking information for your package. Here is a list of tracking availability by service and by product:

Returns + Exchanges

If, for any reason, you are unhappy with your purchase at Garlic Shaker®, you may send it back to us within 30 days of receipt. As long as the product is in resalable condition and all of the contents of the original packaging are present we will refund the purchase amount minus shipping costs or, if you request an exchange, ship new product. Please note the following:

  1. 1.      The item(s) must be returned in the original product packaging and in resalable condition. No damaged packaging or items will be accepted.
  2. 2.      We will issue credit to the card used at time of purchase for the original purchase price. All accepted exchanges will be processed and shipped within 1 to 3 weeks.
  3. 3.      If Garlic Shaker® is unable to accept the return or exchange, you will be notified by our Customer Care team via e-mail or phone.
  4. 4.      Garlic Shaker® is not responsible for returns or exchanges lost in transit. We highly recommend using a traceable shipping service.

  • What kind of warranty do I get with my Garlic Shaker®?

All Garlic Shakers are covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. Misuse of the product or exposure to heat is not covered by the warranty. If you encounter a problem due to defects in workmanship or materials, you will need to fill out a warranty claim. Please have the following information ready prior to filing out the form.

 1)    High quality photo of the defect.

2)     Written explanation of the defect.

3)     Order number of the product or location where the shaker was purchased.

4)     Your daytime phone number.

5)     Your email address.

6)     You shipping address.

Within 1-2 business days we will confirm receipt of your claim. We may for more information or photos if we cannot determine the issue. If the issue cannot be determined remotely, we may ask you to ship your shaker to us for personal inspection. If your shaker is approved under warranty, we will have the part replaced or the shaker replaced in full.       

Terms and Conditions:

  • Warranty applies to original purchaser only. It is non-transferable.
  • Warranty covers the product when used for its intended purpose only.
  • Warranty does not cover problems caused by normal wear and tear, abuse, accidents, exposure to heat, and any modifications or repairs not performed by Garlic Shaker®.
  • If an identical replacement vessel is not available, we reserve the right to replace it with a comparable color and/or style.
  • If you are located outside the United States, we will cover the shipping cost, but you will be responsible for any customs fees that may arise.

Health and Safety

I have been hearing a lot about BPA. What is it?

Bisphenol-A, also known as BPA, is a chemical that is commonly used to make polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate is the most common type of plastic used in clear water bottles. BPA has been linked to a variety of health issues, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and early onset of puberty. The longer a liquid sits in a container made with BPA, the more of it leaches into that liquid. The hotter the liquid and the older the container, the faster this leaching occurs.

The controversy over BPA has escalated in recent years as more scientific data has accumulated. While government agencies such as the National Toxicology Program (NTP) and the Center for the Evaluation of Risks to Human Reproduction (CERHR) have called for a ban on BPA, the Food and Drug Administration believes these measures are premature and that more research is required.

As a company, we place the utmost priority on the health safety of our products. While there is still debate over the health impact of BPA, we didn't want to leave anything to chance. That's why none of our products contain BPA.
